Our outdoor bar 

The new outdoor Bar at the Schmiedhofalm afford you an easy way of self service this winter. You get a wide variety on non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks.

The Schmiedhofalm is situated in the skiing area Zell am See- Kaprun. This area consists of the glacier Kitzsteinhorn, the Maiskogel and the Schmittenhöhe. Our skiing hut is situated at the sunny side, the Sonnenalm,

a picturesque place for skiing.

The fastest way to get to our hut is with the Sonnenalmbahn and with the Hochmaisbahn, a heated chairlift with bubbles. Of course you can reach us also with the new Porsche design cable car – the Schmittenhöhebahn, there you have some opportunities.

Our tip:

1. Start at the Schmittenhöhe mountain station
2. Kettingbahnslope (#8) down
3. then up with the Kettingbahn or the Kapellenbahn
4. along ski trail # 5
5. down the family run (#20)
6. and up with the Hochmaisbahn to our mountain hut!

After 30 minutes you can relax at our mountain hut, the Schmiedhofalm.

The nature starts our season!

Since a long time you can ski at the Sonnenalm. If the snow conditions are good in November the area Sonnenalm will be open on weekends. Artificial snowmaking guaranteed us the good snow conditions for the whole winter season. The latest date of opening the whole area of the Schmitten is at December.

Culinary we spoil you with regional “Pinzgauer” dishes and international food in winter. Apart of constant standard dishes we offer you daily special food in a wide variety.
Our mountain hut is perfect for a break or for your lunch time. In winter we open daily at 9 a.m. with warm and cold dishes.
